Nolan and Piccinini

Sidney Nolan's Painting " Kelly with Gun" was painted during the time spent at the Harkness Fellowship. The painting was done on a canvas. The effect of dark contrasted with the green and blue was achieved by scrapping and wiping. Due to those techniques that dark effect. She was very much influenced by the psychology of Kelly as a result i designed a large space to give the feeling of vulnerability and the ability to manipulate and the room for allot of aggression and hatred.



Patricia Piccinini's "Swell" is a artificial video. The video is fully synthetic, Computer generated. She is incorporating technology with nature, who it is starting to replace it. She didn't use conventional materials for her artwork, but rather computer programs. He inspiration would be of something synthetic, unreal, something that inspires fear and yet is threatening. As a result her artwork would have been created in the sphere.
